Most of you probably zoned out in history class because it involved a lot of reading from a textbook or taking notes while the teacher had a slideshow going. That is not my style. Students will be engaged in different kinds of lessons everyday. I plan on having a hands on activity at least once a week. Whether we're making maps, mapping Sherman's March through the south, working on a poster for the 13 original colonies, or drawing pictures for the amendments to the Constitution, students will be required to use a variety of different materials. Scissors, glue, markers, colored pencils are just some of the things that we will use in my classroom.
