With your help, I was able to introduce a few individual books and a few series books that interested the masses of readers! \r\n\r\nUnboxing the books with my students brought my heart so much joy! Never have I seen students crowd around and beg with excitement to be the first one to read a book before! Seeing the buzz in the classroom was a great start to the new year! \r\n\r\nWith a classroom full of readers, lights dimmed, and reading in full swing in various places around the room it is a peaceful place. While reading occurs in our classroom, some students are sprawled out on the carpet, some are huddled under standing desks, others enjoying the quiet in their own desks, and some working collaboratively in guided groups. It is our favorite time of day!\r\n\r\nIntroducing books with athletes or hobbies similar to my own students really peaked the interest of my readers. Jake Maddox books started out piled into a basket and now are placed in the hands of excited readers! Knowing that I was able to accomplish this passion for reading with your help makes me beyond grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you for seeing the importance of reading and staying relevant in the texts I offer to my fourth graders.\r\n\r\nSending you the best of wishes in 2026,","fullyFundedDate":1767188529021,"projectUrl":"project/new-year-new-titles/9973052/","projectTitle":"New Year, New Titles!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Beno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4254721_orig.jpg?crop=548,548,x59,y72&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746497723304","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4254721"},{"teacherId":4254721,"projectId":9930769,"letterContent":"I wanted to thank each of you personally for your generous contribution to our class project, \"Just One More Book, Please!\" With your support, we were able to add several read aloud texts to our classroom. These texts have been used to enhance our Character Strong curriculum - thus enhancing the traits we wish to foster in students (perseverance, respect, responsibility, kindness...etc). For example, for empathy and kindness, our class read \"Nobody Hugs a Cactus.\" We were able to discuss how the characters appreciated what made the cactus different while also trying to pass their kindness onto the crabby cactus. It had a cute ending that brought a smile to our faces!\r\nSeeing the students get excited with each new book that I introduce, it brings such joy to the read aloud time of our day! \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the box of books, they were so excited to see all the new titles - most books were new to all students! What a fun surprise! They were also so excited to see that our floor desks had a more neat space to go that was easily accessible for learning, completing work and collaborating around the room. One student even commented, \"I'm glad we got these. It was really messy when the desks were just on the ground...also unsafe!\" Who would think something that brings me organization could also bring joy to them?!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity and belief in the power of education!","fullyFundedDate":1764699786540,"projectUrl":"project/just-one-more-bookplease/9930769/","projectTitle":"Just One More Book...Please?!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Beno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4254721_orig.jpg?crop=548,548,x59,y72&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746497723304","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4254721"},{"teacherId":6719666,"projectId":9195596,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your continued support for our students at Tullar Elementary. One of the great fortunes I have in my role as a School Counselor is that I get to work with all students throughout their time in our school. Because of this, I am able to identify gaps and needs across the building. \r\n\r\nIt is so tough, as an educator (and a human), to see a need for kids and be unsure how to meet it. Your generosity and kindness affords me the opportunity to dream big and not settle if there are needs our students have. \r\n\r\nThe resources you helped fund have positively impacted so many students' lives. When students can play with their friends on the snow hill because they have the necessary gear, they do not feel 'different' and they get to enjoy being a kid. When someone comes to school hungry and knows they will be fed, they feel safe and welcome. \r\n\r\nEven though many of you may never meet our Tullar Tigers, you have still made an incredible impact for them. Our classroom now features individual student desks, floor desks, a standing table, and a carpet for learning. Having these options available is welcoming to all learns and allows my students to have choice. \r\n\r\nYou wouldn't believe how much the floor desks and standing table are used in a single day - ALL DAY! Seeing children take their learning into their own hands by making a quiet transition to these options while reading, completing independent work, collaborating in teams and/or partnerships, and showing all they know on assessments warms my heart! All of this wouldn't have been possible without your contribution.\r\n\r\nI am so honored that you saw value in this project and took a leap of faith - donating to my cause.
