"Buzz..." go the florescent lights above the energetic students. Florescent lights are highly stimulating and distracting for students with special needs. Though light is needed for instruction and guided practice, the high energy that these lights create for students often time disrupts the learning process. Providing a more calm and relaxed learning environment with the addition of florescent light covers could make all the difference in the world for students with special needs. The shade of blue is said to bring out a peaceful state of mind which aids in student learning, rather than white that stimulates. My goal is to optimize student learning by providing a safe and calm learning environment for all students.
