Since receiving these resources, my students have been more engaged in group activities, conversations, and teamwork. The materials have helped create opportunities for students to practice important social skills such as sharing, communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence in a fun and supportive way. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were excited and eager to participate. Many of them immediately wanted to explore, work together, and talk with their classmates. It has been wonderful to watch students build stronger peer relationships and become more comfortable expressing themselves during classroom activities.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, we are continuing to strengthen our classroom community and help students grow socially and emotionally every day. These tools will continue to support lessons, small group activities, and positive interactions throughout the school year. So I have used two-subject notebooks for the students in math class to help them organize their work. Students take notes in one part of the notebook and use the other part of the notebook for interactive notebook activities. The notebooks are different than the standard notebooks that students may come to school with, so they always know which notebook is for math. I have found that many students keep their notebooks for years to come and use it in math class in the following grades. I knew that UNO cards were loved in the class but the kids also love playing the math games with the cards.\r\n\r\nAfter instruction is given, the students go back to their desks and work on their class assignment. When their assignment is done, they are able to pick one of the UNO games to play. Since these games have been introduced to the class, I see more students getting done with their class assignments. When asked why they are getting done with assignments so fast, they respond with 'I want to play a game with the UNO cards'. That makes me smile.\r\n\r\nNow that the students have been playing some of the games in the content being taught, I will add more games with content from prior lessons. Games are also played against the teacher for FUN FRIDAYS! Students always like to beat the teacher. \r\n\r\nThese cards and games have definitely have accelerated math learning in this class.
