Access to Algebra has allowed us to decrease the barriers that often prevent students with special educational needs and English Language Learners from mastering algebra. \r\n\r\nThis project allowed us to integrate multi-sensory scaffolding - math resources and anchor charts that are on their desks via flip stands and/or laminated folders allow our students to access previously learned skills and help them bypass language barriers. These resources ensures that our student's mathematical progress is determined by their logical reasoning and problem-solving potential rather than their memory or English language proficiency. The implementation of these resources has helped create a more inclusive classroom where complex procedures like solving multi-step equations become accessible. \r\n\r\nUltimately, the long-term impact of this project is ensuring students are confident in their math skills. By replacing frustration with success, the project equips diverse learners with a confidence in their math abilities. Your support could also help lead our students to careers in the math and science fields.","fullyFundedDate":1766871244756,"projectUrl":"project/access-to-algebra/9946948/","projectTitle":"Access to Algebra","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nicki","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7903728_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x233,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764942748864","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7903728"},{"teacherId":9670757,"projectId":9827506,"letterContent":"Because of your kindness and support, our classroom has been transformed into an exciting space where curiosity thrives and learning feels like an adventure!\r\nYour generous contributions to \"Engaging Young Scientists With Games, Flashcards, and Fun Rewards!\" have made a meaningful impact on my students. The games and flashcards have turned review time into hands-on learning experiences, helping students strengthen their understanding of science concepts in a fun and interactive way. Instead of simply memorizing facts, they are now actively participating, collaborating, and thinking critically.\r\nThe fun rewards have also played a powerful role in motivating students. I've seen increased participation, improved focus, and more confidence — especially from students who were previously hesitant to share their ideas. The excitement in the room during science activities is truly heartwarming!\r\nThank you for believing in our young learners and investing in their future. The general supplies, organizational tools, and lab materials are used constantly—during experiments, small‑group investigations, note‑taking, and bilingual science activities. These resources help our classroom run smoothly and allow students to focus on exploring, testing, and understanding the world around them.\r\n\r\nWhat I appreciate most is how these materials make science more accessible for all learners. Students can grab what they need, set up their own workspaces, and collaborate confidently with their peers. The bilingual nature of our classroom means that students often switch between English and Spanish as they record data or share their ideas, and the new materials support that flow of learning in both languages.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a more organized, engaging environment—one where students can learn through experience, stay curious, and take pride in their work.
