While I am able to make these strides on my own time, I found that I am learning the most from my own students! Through novels, such as the ones donated to me, I am able to facilitate conversations regarding race, gender, and equality. Much of our reading is done solo on Chromebooks, but we are working on facilitating read alouds and small group reading! It's a slow process, as we have to first identify the student's individual reading levels.\r\n\r\nMany of my more independent students are enjoying reading the new novels! My students are able to use these supplies to engage and learn more about urban agriculture.\r\n\r\nMy students greatly appreciated being able to use our new supplies in the greenhouse, outside, and inside of the school to grow all kinds of wonderful veggies, herbs, flowers, and perennials.
