Youth Rising Up is a student-led social justice group comprised of North Division High School students in Milwaukee WI. We will use the books, "This Book Is Anti-Racist: 20 Lessons on How to Wake Up, Take Action, and Do The Work," to further develop our organizing skills and be agents of change in our school and community. Many of our students are passionate about addressing systemic racism in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas. Our students are speaking out and want to create change around issues such as police violence, the school to prison pipeline, access to healthy food, and the Black Lives Matter Movement: calling for justice in the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Jacob Blake, and too many others. No Justice. No Peace.
