I was especially concerned because my young students spend so much of their school day on the carpet, and I wanted them to have a clean and safe place to learn.\r\n\r\nOur new carpet has completely changed our classroom! Every day, my students use it to listen to stories, learn together, sing, dance, play educational games, work in small groups, and enjoy our morning meetings. The smiley faces even give each child a special spot to sit.\r\n\r\nYour donation was more than just a gift of a carpet. Talking about our emotions at such a young age is very important, students start to think about what an emotion is and how they can relate to it. \r\nWhen students are reading in our classroom, they can be reading individually or with a friend. They read in different ways, students are encourage to look at the pictures and question what they think is going on. Some also start to look at the letters and connect with them by recognizing some letters from their name or friends name. \r\n\r\nThey also enjoy it by reviewing what each emotion is and talk about situations they have experience with each emotion.
