The rug gives my students a comfortable space to gather and learn together, the easel supports hands-on instruction and collaboration, and the shelves have helped us create a more organized environment where students can independently access the materials they need. Thank you for investing in our classroom and believing in the importance of creating meaningful learning environments for students. The texts I was able to get line up with our phonics curriculum which allows students to apply their learning in different texts. The books are also exciting and have recurring characters which many of the students like to continue reading to see what will happen in the next book.\r\nI work in small groups with Kindergarten through Fifth grade so reading is a little different compared to their homeroom. We read books together plus they also get to pick books on their own that interest them while still being successful and practicing the learned skills. They sometimes read to me, to a partner or on their own. Every night they get to take a book home to continue applying the skills and connecting home to school.\r\nThe younger students are always excited for new books as they still have the excitement of learning and wanting to grow and find all new things interesting.\r\nThank you for giving my students opportunities to grow and be successful and showing them they have people in their corner supporting them.","fullyFundedDate":1778062038429,"projectUrl":"project/reading-for-all/10035499/","projectTitle":"Reading for All","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rozek","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7060687"},{"teacherId":9927334,"projectId":10101597,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful to DonorsChoose and all of the generous donors who helped fund our classroom project. The whiteboards and markers have been especially beneficial during literacy groups, allowing students to actively participate, practice skills, and share their thinking in a fun and interactive way. In addition, the new bench has helped organize our math materials, making supplies more accessible and keeping our classroom learning spaces neat and functional.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students now have resources that support collaboration, organization, creativity, and engagement every single day. Sometimes a student may not feel like they can excel at drawing or painting, but prefer to work in 3D elements. Or maybe they have more STEM-thinking brains, and like piecing, planning and building/constructing in a STEAM way. \r\nEvery week in art class we do our core project, which extends over a few weeks. The projects are curriculum based and focused on elements of art and/or art history. Sometimes these lessons and work time take the entire class period and sometimes there is a lot of free time left after the project.\r\nI feel that it is important for students to have choice in art class. Some weeks, our core projects leave little opportunity for choice- which is why I love the idea of having free choice centers with lots of options.\r\nI have created a program on my smart board that students can rotate their names into the station of choice. I switch out the stations every few weeks.\r\nStudents have loved having the freedom to do shape puzzles, STEM building, legos weaving, magnetic drawing etc. When they saw the new options, they were thrilled!! The favorite seems to be the STEM toys- they love building robotic creations with wheels. \r\nI also love it because it is \"free play\" but they are making art without even realizing it- using their imaginations/creative brains, fine motor skills, and being productive during their free time.\r\nThis has been a game changer in the art room, one that I have shared with fellow art teachers in the district. I am so appreciative to be able to have these opportunities for our students thanks to your contributions.","fullyFundedDate":1765908871489,"projectUrl":"project/art-class-free-choice-refresh/9954283/","projectTitle":"Art Class Free Choice Refresh","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sleeter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9397884_orig.png?crop=621,621,x0,y64&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1701385687218","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9397884"},{"teacherId":8979125,"projectId":9834030,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support. I have a group of kindergarten students that were SO excited to see our new crocodile teeth game. They had been asking me to fix the old one for months. My students and I are enjoying getting to use all the wonderful things we received. \r\nOne of my new favorite spots in the room is our Cozy Corner. The Cozy Corner not only provides a spot for students who are not regulated to calm down and get back to learning, but also is available to all students during our small group times as a comfortable place to read independently. \r\nAnother thing we received was headphones. This year I had 3 students who were not able to provide their own headphones and we so excited to be able to have a pair to use during chromebook time. They love listening to stories being read on their chromebooks!\r\nAll of my students also have seat sacks to keep their learning materials at their spots and organized. My classroom has tables instead of desks so keeping things in their places can become challenging.
