We are just getting the year kicked off, but it has already made a difference in my teaching. My students are learning how to take notes, keep them organized with a title and a table of contents, and they are learning many new vocabulary words. We will be practicing using our notes to take quizzes and complete hands-on labs. The markers have added a little extra to our notetaking because the fine tips of the markers make it easy to practice good handwriting on lined paper.","fullyFundedDate":1750040732698,"projectUrl":"project/digging-deeper-into-science/9403933/","projectTitle":"Digging Deeper Into Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Crawford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3126874"},{"teacherId":3126874,"projectId":9243400,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for your donation of brand new \"Because of Mr. Terupt\" books. This story is beloved among my fourth graders. When asked at the end of the year what their favorite book was, this is an emphatic answer.\r\n In school we are to teach many skills when it comes to the subject of English Language Arts, and we obsess over mastery, numbers, and data. I probably should be telling you how this book will improve on those scores. But the reason I cherish this book so dearly is that the most prominent skill it teaches my students is to LOVE GOOD BOOKS! The echoes of, \"One more chapter, please!\" Are endearing to hear in a classroom where I mostly hear grumbling and complaining over the tasks they are asked to do.\r\n My students that just left my classroom were very excited when the box of fresh books arrived, even though they already read it! They also got excited because they got to take an old copy home. Trust me when I say I am usually BEGGING kids to take books home, so this made my teacher heart smile.\r\n I'm looking forward to using these fresh books in the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.","fullyFundedDate":1744234855455,"projectUrl":"project/because-of-mr-terupt-and-donors-choose/9243400/","projectTitle":"Because of Mr. Terupt and Donors Choose","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Crawford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3126874"},{"teacherId":822639,"projectId":9044956,"letterContent":"When I told my students about the new case and pencils, they could not believe it!
