At the beginning of the year, we learned about learning. The books about growth mindset and making mistakes were a great way to set my students up for important skills. We were able to talk about the importance of perservence and learning from our mistakes. Sometimes students are too afraid of making a mistake that they don't try, or they start to struggle with a skill and give up before they give themselves a chance.\r\nThe books have also been great for pulling out to read when I've noticed a problem with a social or character skill, such as respecting property or using kind words. The books give us a way to start a discussion and make connections. They have helped soo much! They use them to do research, practice their latest math or spelling skill, and for many other activities. For them to be able to use their Chromebooks, they need to be charged. These chargers have allowed us to organize our charging cart. The students will soon get to take their Chromebook home daily so they can continue to use them to practice their academics. We won't have to unhook all of the chargers on a daily basis to allow them to take the chargers with them, since they have one for using at home. This means the cart stays organized and we aren't wasting time trying to match up and untangle 25 cords. Then they sketched and designed the habitat for them.
