You helped me to have a fictional story, a nonfiction book about the food in West Virginia, an alphabet book that includes beautiful illustrations and information about our lovely state, and a book adaptation of the John Denver song, \"Country Roads.\" These items helped me to address the state standards that require students to learn about their home state. The kids especially loved the \"Country Roads\" book due to their familiarity with the song and the alphabet book because it was one they could enjoy independently or when read to. \r\nI know that the other teachers and I plan to continue using these books for years to come.
