Our first project was using Strawbees to construct 3D shapes and identify characteristics of each shape with my afterschool students. \r\n\r\nWhen the boxes of Strawbees first arrived, the initial reaction was a mixture of curiosity and slight confusion. The students were used to traditional building blocks, not flexible straws and brightly colored connectors.
