My students come from a very rural, high poverty part of West Virginia. My students are high energy, intelligent, children that love learning. They are motivated by praise and aim to please. For most of them, their only ticket out of their environment is going to be a quality education. My school is an extremely loving and nurturing environment and provides a safe haven for these students. The staff works together to provide for the basic needs of our students whether it be clothing, food, shoes or an entire Christmas for the children of the family. We try our best to make sure that none of these children fall through the cracks. Our entire school receives free breakfast and lunch due to our poverty level.

About my class
