These tools have certainly helped develop and shape my classroom in more ways than I could have expected. \r\n\r\n\tNotably, the whiteboards and dry erase markers are incorporated into our academic sessions every week, and help students develop their pre-writing strokes. The sensory floor pads, weighted stuffed animal/pillow and other fidgets assist my students with sensory needs by helping keep them regulated. The Play-Doh and switchboard with the different buttons, switches and screws are very engaging tools for our class' \"choice time,\" and the students have lots of fun playing with them. The whiteboards and dry erase markers, as well as the magnetic letters, are consistently used during academic sections of the day, and are helping multiple students meet their language arts and math goals. \r\n\r\n\tUltimately, this donation and project has elevated the success of my class, as well as the success of the students. Students are using the sentence-building cards to practice creating complete thoughts using subject-verb-object structures in both Spanish and English, which has really helped boost their confidence in their expressive language goals. One moment that stood out was when a student used the visuals to build a sentence in English and then proudly repeated it in Spanish. It was such a great example of how these supports are helping them connect both languages. When I first introduced the materials, students were immediately excited, especially about the WH-questions game. They saw it as something fun rather than \"work,\" which led to more participation and engagement. Moving forward, we'll keep building on these skills by working on more complex sentences and helping students ask and answer WH-questions in more natural conversations. Your gift has really helped to support the development of fine motor skills for many of the younger students that I support through fun and engaging ways. Students have loved playing our new monster pick up game, therapy putty, and lacing beads to help develop their hand strength, bilateral coordination, and visual motor skills necessary to engage in activities at school such as holding a pencil, writing, or using classroom materials. I have been able to use these materials in a variety of different ways to help support student learning and engagement. We have also used our new scented markers for many different craft activities and to support participation in handwriting practice. Many of my students in our school's Life Skills program and Sensory Communication Program have found a lot of enjoyment in using the scented markers to support their interest and attention in participating in fine motor and learning activities. They absolutely love the markers!\r\n\r\nAdditionally, I want to thank you for your larger gift of donating to provide weighted stuffed animals, balls, and various fidgets to help support the sensory needs of students across our school community. I have now found a place for each weighted item that you provided and many students have found these items to be calming and supportive of their learning when they are dysregulated or feeling big emotions. Students especially love the weighted stuffed animals, which they can put in their lap while learning or use in their calm down corner of the classroom when needed. Some of these supplies were also used in our school sensory room that we have been building this school year to support student regulation needs, which is a great benefit to our specialized programs that we have at this school.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for all that you have contributed for our students!
