Students use them for quick problem-solving on the board, group brainstorming activities, and even games like \"team races\" to solve questions. One standout moment was during a review session where students rotated through stations, writing their answers and explaining their reasoning. The fresh markers made everything so much easier to see and use.\r\n\r\nThey were thrilled! Something as simple as fresh, bright markers really energized the class. Students even commented on how much easier it was to read the board and enjoyed using the new colors when they got to write up their ideas.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue incorporating more collaborative whiteboard activities. We'll be using the pens in group review projects and for visual mapping exercises to connect concepts. It's a small tool, but it makes a big impact on engagement and learning.","fullyFundedDate":1746698851026,"projectUrl":"project/resistance-bands-and-expo-markers/9268124/","projectTitle":"Resistance Bands and Expo Markers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Cross","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9972422"},{"teacherId":9972422,"projectId":9190739,"letterContent":"Our students are loving the new pickleball equipment! We've been able to set up full games in class, and it's been amazing to watch students who were hesitant at first quickly gain confidence. One of the best moments so far was seeing a group of students who normally don't engage much in PE jump right into a doubles game and cheer each other on. It's creating a stronger sense of teamwork and excitement in class.\r\n\r\nThe excitement was immediate! As soon as the students saw the new paddles and nets, they were asking, \"Can we play today?\" Their faces lit up, and several students even said they had heard of pickleball but never had the chance to try it. It was like giving them a brand-new experience, and the enthusiasm has carried into every class since.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to build on the basics of pickleball by teaching strategy, scoring, and sportsmanship. We'll also be organizing mini-tournaments where students rotate partners and keep track of points, which will add a fun competitive element while still focusing on teamwork. Many students have already asked how they can keep playing outside of class, so this project is sparking interest in a lifelong activity!","fullyFundedDate":1742647358048,"projectUrl":"project/pickleball-balls/9190739/","projectTitle":"Pickleball Balls","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Cross","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9972422"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36050","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":914,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":21,"percentBlack":21,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.6,"schoolId":36050,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Foster High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Foster High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/tukwila-school-district-/foster-high-school/36050"}
