The flexible seating options and classroom materials have helped students feel more comfortable, focused, and engaged during independent and group work. One moment that really stood out was when students first walked into the classroom and immediately gravitated toward the new seating choices. They were excited to try out different spaces and began collaborating right away without being prompted. It was clear that the environment shift made them feel more ownership of their learning space and more willing to participate.\r\n\r\nWe are now using these resources during reading and writing instruction, especially during our narrative writing and comprehension activities. Students are choosing seating that best supports their learning, which has increased stamina and on-task behavior during longer assignments. Next, we will be moving into writing narratives, where students will use the flexible seating to support their needs throughout their writing process. These tools are helping create a more student-centered classroom, and I'm excited to see how much more independent and confident they become as learners throughout this unit.\r\n\r\nI am looking forward to using flexible seating next year in the classroom! Students can quickly fix mistakes without frustration, reinforcing that math is about growth and learning, not perfection. When the materials first arrived, students were especially excited about the different marker colors and the erasers built right into the caps. \r\n\r\nOne powerful moment happened during a lesson. Students worked in pairs at whiteboards and were debating whether their solutions were correct. I heard students say, \"Wait, let's erase and try that again,\" and \"Show me how you got that,\" demonstrating true mathematical discourse.
