Then, when introduced to the mousetrap car project they found the electronic scissors very efficient at making the body of their cars. One of the most successful cars was made out of cardboard. Students were able to spend less time cutting their cardboard and more time testing and modifying their designs, which was one of my engineering goals. This also helped even the playing field for those students who don't have materials or support at home.\r\n\r\nI hope to use these electronic scissors again to make windmill blades and again when we work on solar water heaters. Your contribution has already made a significant impact on our ability to engage with students and support their career interests. \r\nThe iPad has become an indispensable tool in enhancing our communication and outreach efforts. Here are just a few of the ways your generosity has helped us: \r\n1. Promoting Events and Opportunities: The iPad has streamlined our ability to create eye-catching digital flyers, videos, and graphics for upcoming workshops, guest speaker events, and career fairs. With its advanced capabilities, we've been able to showcase these events across various platforms, reaching more students than ever before.\r\n2. Engaging on Social Media: In today's digital age, social media plays a crucial role in connecting with students. Without the use of phones on our campus the iPad allows us to craft and share dynamic, timely content across our social media platforms. This has helped us build stronger relationships with our students and keep them informed of essential resources and opportunities.\r\n3. Streamlining Communication: The iPad enables quick and efficient communication with students, staff, and guest speakers. Whether sending out real-time updates or coordinating last-minute changes, this tool ensures that everyone stays informed and connected.\r\n4. Enhancing Guest Speaker Presentations: Your donation has also improved the quality of guest speaker sessions. The iPad serves as a portable and versatile device for taking attendance, completing google forms, sharing content, and facilitating engaging discussions.\r\nBecause of your support, we are now better equipped to fulfill our mission of preparing students for success in college and their future careers. Your generosity not only provides us with the tools to enhance our programs but also inspires us to strive for excellence in serving our students.\r\nThank you once again for your kindness and commitment to empowering the next generation. \r\nJen Boelts & College and Career Readiness Students","fullyFundedDate":1727728341008,"projectUrl":"project/technology-needed-for-student-projects/8674450/","projectTitle":"Technology Needed for Student Projects","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Boelts","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4429460_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724178729177","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4429460"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36694","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1933,"numTeachers":83,"percentFrplEligible":39,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":61,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"23.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":36694,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Olympia High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Olympia High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/olympia-school-district-111/olympia-high-school/36694"}
