The kick bands and wobble seats have quickly become an essential part of our daily routine. Students use the kick bands throughout lessons while seated, allowing them to move their feet without leaving their chairs, and the wobble seats provide gentle movement that helps students stay regulated and engaged. One specific moment was during our morning routine for students who typically struggle to remain seated were able to participate for the entire activity, keeping their bodies calm while focusing on the task while meeting their sensory needs. When students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to try the wobble seats and curious about how the kick bands worked. After a brief demonstration and expectations lesson, students quickly learned how to use the tools appropriately. Because of these resources, our next steps include increasing student independence during whole-group and small-group instruction. As we continue working on current lessons in reading, writing, and math, students are able to sustain attention for longer periods and fully participate alongside their peers. These tools are helping create a more supportive learning environment where students can focus on learning rather than managing discomfort or sensory overload. It helped build a deeper understanding that baking is not just following a recipe—it's science in action.
