Students like to draw on the whiteboard during their free time. In class, we use it to practice writing Chinese characters and working through math algorithm problems. They play math games with each other during math stations and after they finish their classwork. When they play, they are engaged and excited about learning. As a teacher, I love seeing students interact, make connections, and grow motivated—especially the children who were shy or hesitant to talk with peers. Now they feel comfortable asking to join a game. Because of you, our classroom library now reflects the identities, experiences, and voices of my students—and that has made a powerful difference.\r\n\r\nWe are already using these books daily during our reading block and community circle time. The books opened doors for rich conversations about heritage, empathy, and respect, while also strengthening reading comprehension and discussion skills.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new books, their reactions were pure joy and excitement. They eagerly gathered around the boxes, pointing out covers, characters, and titles they recognized or felt connected to. Several students couldn't wait to start reading and immediately asked if they could take the books home to share with their families. Seeing themselves represented in the stories made them feel seen, valued, and proud.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, the learning doesn't stop here. Our next steps include a class project where students will compare stories from different cultures and create their own original books inspired by what they've read. We are also beginning a lesson focused on themes of kindness, resilience, and community using these texts as mentor books. These resources will continue to shape meaningful learning experiences throughout the year.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly enriched our classroom and empowered my students as readers and storytellers. Not only do students get clearer instructions, but our small group leaders are able to take more initiative and will write notes for students during our breif whole group introduction.\r\n\r\nWhen talking to staff and students both said that the whiteboards make know what to do easier.
