Thanks to you, our project \"Little artists\" helped to identify our Identities - How Diverse and Beautiful We Are\" is now a reality.\r\n\r\nYour donation of art materials - paints, crayons in all skin-tone colors, mirrors, brushes, papers, and collage materials - did so much more than fill our shelves. You gave my students a mirror and a window.\r\n\r\nFor the first time, my 3-5 year-olds were able to look in a mirror and paint their _own_ beautiful faces, with their _own_ skin color, their _own_ hair, their _own_ eyes. They said things like \"My skin is like cinnamon!\" and \"My hair is curly like clouds!\" We created self-portraits and a big mural that says \"We are all different, we are all beautiful.\" And we are a family!\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, we have children from Mexico, Guatemala, the US, Uzbekistan and many blended cultures. Some speak Spanish, some speak English, some speak both. Your art supplies helped them see that diversity is not just accepted here, it is celebrated.\r\n\r\nYou didn't just donate art supplies.
