A lot of them come to school hungry, and being able to give them a little something to eat has helped them focus and stay energized throughout the day. It's amazing to see them more engaged and ready to learn after snack time. They're always so excited when it's time to eat!\r\n\r\nThe snacks have also created a wonderful sense of community in the room. No longer do they struggle to find their supplies; each child now has a designated space for their belongings. This organization has allowed them to become more independent and responsible, cultivating skills that are essential for their development. \r\n\r\nThe impact of this efficiency is evident in their learning experiences. With easy access to their materials, my students can spend more time engaged in activities and less time searching for their items. In the past, the tubs I had were old and flimsy items I found in the workroom, and many of them didn't even have lids. Now, all materials that the kids share or use individually are stored in sturdy containers or pouches, allowing students to easily access supplies and keep everything tidy. \r\n\r\nThe students particularly appreciate their individual chair pockets, which provide a space for them to store their library books, markers, Chromebooks, headphones, and other personal items. We also love that these pockets have a designated space for their names, making it easy for students to find their chairs when they come into class.\r\n\r\nThe thoughtful changes to our classroom environment have created a positive and organized space that enhances both learning and engagement for my students. The sturdy storage solutions and personalized chair pockets not only meet their practical needs but also foster a sense of ownership and pride in their classroom. My goal was to make the health office a warm inviting place for students to come. With your help, I was able to do this. Not all of the students here at McDermoth can express the way they are feeling verbally, so the nursing office posters are a great resource for this. The snacks, especially the fruit snacks are being utilized to make \"snack bags\" for the classroom for my diabetic students for use in the event of a lock-down or a natural disaster where either myself or emergency personnel may not be able to get to the classroom right away. I also was able to utilize the snacks received to add to my emergency bag which is always prepared and ready to grab if we need to evacuate the school very quickly. \r\n\r\nYou will also see a picture of the books I was able to obtain for my health room.
