We have enjoyed all of the additions and the students have been engaged in hands-on learning. The students have particularly the globe and solar system model. It has been the highlight of our science lab. The students have been going deep into research on their own after exploring the planets and learning facts about the solar system. In fact, there is a group of students who literally come up to me each day with a new fact they learned about space.\r\n\r\nStudents have also loved the glow of the projector and jellyfish light. Our \"fake\" jellyfish have names and are talked to every day by their adoring fans. These two additions have truly turned our dully lit classroom into a festive and inviting learning environment.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for the donations provided and we have loved every single minute! The students have been very excited to use playdough 'tools' to make imaginary pizzas, cookies, and shapes. They were super excited to use the cutting and rolling tools- and I am proud of how they are 'sharing' the materials! I have been able to target sounds the students are working on as we make varied items and incorporate manipulatives into sessions.\r\n\r\nAll of this has been possible through my fulfilled order! In addition, the students have been learning to take turns and use many language concepts, as well as social skill rules-as we practice taking turns-and finding 'matches' with our animal memory games! \r\nThank you so much donors- for all your contributions that help motivate and excite my students- as well as myself during speech sessions!","fullyFundedDate":1755372819774,"projectUrl":"project/starting-the-speech-and-language-year-us/9600715/","projectTitle":"Starting the Speech and Language Year Using Hands-On Creative Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Adams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9806707"},{"teacherId":9806707,"projectId":9042944,"letterContent":"I am so appreciative of your kindness and generosity! Your donations have provided my students so many opportunities to explore and talk about new toys, games and books. These new items had many students who have limited speech say new words such as 'wow' and 'cool' in our speech sessions. My students were excited to open and see the new books and 'games' and especially loved playing with items that allowed for imagination and most of all language development- including soft blocks, magnatiles and the toy 'vet' animal care kit. \r\n\r\nThis is my first year applying for Donor's Choose- and I am so touched and inspired that others believe in me and my students- and have been so supportive.
