We are excited to be able to have another generous donation to sponsor a field trip to a local lake to do water testing and to go canoeing. We are going to use the water testing kits to test two opposing sides of the lake--a developed side and a wild or non-developed side. We are going to then compare the results and aim to initiate an improvement plan that will help the lake to benefit with better water quality for the living beings in the lake.\r\n\r\nHands on projects like these allow students to experience wonderful learning. It initiates higher level thinking and questioning and making connections. When you know better, you do better is a saying, but in order to know better, you have to experience things that you can learn from. The students are gaining a knowledge that is hands-on about pollution and about their effect on our wildlife and our communal and wild water sources.
