Because of your donation, I have developed a curriculum for the novel that my department and I will use with our English 11 students. These curriculum materials--incorporated into our unit on \"The American Dream\"--include vocabulary activities, character analysis, journaling prompts, reading strategies to apply to the novel, and a final reflection on the novel's key themes.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is interactive and often done as a whole-class activity. With graphic novels, students will often choose to read as reader's theater (reading aloud as a particular character, using the visual cues to see when to speak). This makes reading fun for kids, who get to know characters and feel a connection to their individual parts of the collective story.\r\n\r\nYour support hasn't just filled our bookshelves; it has opened doors.
