The cases have made a huge improvement in how we store and protect our instruments. Since the drum cases have so many different handles on them, students are able to more easily carry and put away the instruments without worrying about them accidentally getting banged up. The drum heads on some sets sit on the bottom, so this also keeps those in better condition. Having the boomwhacker backpacks has made carrying them to and from classes much easier, with the added benefit of being able to carry more sets so a greater number of students can play. The guitar case is much better than what we had at protecting the classroom guitar, and being able to quickly throw it over my shoulders to carry makes everything much easier. The additional instruments and strings have made for a larger number of students engaged with instruments in music classes. \r\n\r\n Thank you again for your support of our school, music program, and our students. I have found uses for repairs on some of our kids bikes that ride to school, setting desks to the right height for students in lower grades, tightening wobbly desk legs, and I'm sure the list will continue. The students are always surprised that a teacher can also fix things. It opens up discussions on where people have talents outside of the walls of the school, and gives food for thought for jobs in the future for students as well. \r\n We are grateful for your generosity, and providing these tools and supplies. One student recently said, \"I like working down here — I can think better.\" Giving them choice has empowered them to understand how they learn best.\r\nThe new storage boxes have also helped students take responsibility for organizing books and shared materials.
