My students were excited to see the new materials and have a dedicated space for yoga and mindfulness. Having enough mats for students to participate comfortably has allowed us to spend more time practicing instead of waiting for equipment. Students have enjoyed learning different yoga poses, stretching, balance activities, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques while developing body awareness, focus, and confidence.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students slow down, concentrate on their breathing, and encourage one another during our yoga activities. Some students who can be very active and energetic during PE have discovered that they also enjoy having a few minutes to stretch, relax, and reset. The cleaning supplies also help us keep our mats fresh and ready for each class, while the storage cart keeps everything organized and accessible.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our yoga and mindfulness lessons, students will build on the skills they have learned by combining movement, balance, stretching, and breathing into short routines. My goal is to help students understand that physical education is not only about sports and competition—it is also about taking care of our bodies and minds.
