The storage materials are helping me create an organized, accessible learning environment so students will be able to easily find and use the supplies they need. Once students arrive, we'll use the math manipulatives during small-group instruction and math centers to build a strong understanding of math concepts through hands-on learning. The personal pencil pouches will help each student stay organized and ready to learn every day, and the indoor recess materials will provide engaging activities that encourage teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. I can't wait to see my students confidently use these resources as they learn, explore, and grow throughout the year.\r\n\r\nSince we haven't started school yet, my students haven't had the opportunity to see the materials. I know they will be excited to discover a classroom filled with new resources that were provided just for them. I especially look forward to seeing their faces when they receive their own personal pencil pouches and begin using the hands-on math manipulatives and indoor recess activities. I know these resources will help create a welcoming classroom where every student feels prepared and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we begin the new school year, these resources will play an important role in helping us establish classroom routines and build a positive learning environment. Students will use the math manipulatives to develop number sense, practice problem-solving strategies, and strengthen their mathematical thinking. The classroom supplies and personal pencil pouches will help students stay organized and ready for learning each day, while the storage materials will keep our classroom organized and make resources easy for students to access independently. During indoor recess, students will have opportunities to build friendships, practice cooperation, and enjoy meaningful play together. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, my students will begin the year with the tools they need to feel confident, supported, and ready to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1778196834527,"projectUrl":"project/a-whole-new-world-in-third-grade/10256428/","projectTitle":"A Whole New World in Third Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. West","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5694832_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y579&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778096857381","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5694832"},{"teacherId":10241204,"projectId":9681030,"letterContent":"I am a so appreciative of your donation! Firstly, my students are enjoying Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library immensely. We read half of the book and will continue reading it in the fall; its has 55 chapters! While planning this, I did not factor in the massive amount of days dedicated to all forms of testing including the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL's) and SOL review. If you would like an update in the fall, please do not hesitate to email at carla.cole1@nn.k12.va.us.\r\n\r\nWhat surprised me was the students' excitement to return to school this fall and continue reading the story. Of course, having a party after we are done reading doesn't hurt! Nevertheless, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library will be a treasure that can be read for years to come at Richneck Elementary School that will hopefully, instill a lifelong love of reading and visiting the library. When the equipment arrived, we were right in the middle of our throwing and catching unit. Before the donation, I had been piecing lessons together with beanbags and whatever equipment I could find that was still usable. The day the new equipment arrived felt like perfect timing—it was literally in the middle of my workday. I was able to immediately adjust my lesson plans and redesign the remaining weeks of the unit so students could practice with real throwing and catching equipment designed for success.\r\n\r\nThe Gator Skin dodgeballs and hoops made an immediate difference in how my students could participate. Instead of waiting turns or trying to adapt activities to limited materials, many more students could be moving and practicing skills at the same time. When the students first saw the new equipment, they were incredibly excited—there were lots of \"Are those new?\" and \"We get to use these today?\" moments around the gym. The soft dodgeballs gave students confidence when practicing throwing and catching, and the hoops quickly became versatile tools for targets, movement stations, and cooperative games. Because of these materials, the final two weeks of our unit were some of the most engaging and successful lessons I've taught.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to support skill development across all grade levels. The same equipment will be used in future units focusing on teamwork, striking skills, and fitness stations so students can stay active, practice fundamental movement skills, and build confidence in physical activity. Your support has truly helped rebuild a part of our PE program and has already made a positive impact on hundreds of students who come through our gym each week. Thank you for helping create a more active, engaging, and joyful learning environment for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1772388879005,"projectUrl":"project/rebuilding-our-pe-closet-stronger-equip/9983889/","projectTitle":"Rebuilding Our PE Closet: Stronger Equipment for Stronger Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Campbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10397031_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770838856331","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10397031"},{"teacherId":9903230,"projectId":9072327,"letterContent":"As the first month of school has come and gone, I have had the opportunity to formally introduce myself to students, staff and parents. Richneck Elementary School is a diverse school community comprising of military families, multi-generational and interracial families. I knew that when I started here back in February 2025, cultural awareness was important. With the support of this project, I now have foundational tools to create rapport, build trust, and improve our social climate. \r\n\r\nBeing a school counselor has been my passion and after completing my project, I feel more confident and equipped to meet my students' needs.
