These materials will be used in small group reading as well as independent reading. My students love to read and nonfiction is very popular in our classroom. Time for Kids and Scholastic News will help expand their knowledge of current events and world news. During our reading block, students will have the opportunity to read these nonfiction resources, discuss them with their peers and research. We will use these resources to expand on what we are currently learning about in social studies and science. The love of reading is already in place and nonfiction resources would help to foster a greater understanding of real life events and current news.
