I was able to reach my +$550 goal within three days. I have established a calming corner where my students can take a 8-10 minute break, upon request. They have made requests when they've been frustrated, felt ready to explode, and/or when they couldn't continue with their academics. Each time a student elected to go to the calming corner, that was my signal to stop what I was doing and go to him/her. They were provided a board which said, \"I feel . . . I can . . .\". This gave us an opportunity to discuss what they were feeling and what choices they had. Some would choose a hug, while others elected to work on a puzzle, play with a fidget, or use the deep breath expandable ball.\r\n\r\nThe calming corner has been very effective. It has allowed my students to decompress with dignity and has given them a voice: a way to express themselves in a positive and productive way. I believe this project will have a far-reaching impact throughout my student's lives. Thank you for helping me help them.","fullyFundedDate":1753884913190,"projectUrl":"project/help-me-help-them-social-emotional-gro/9502388/","projectTitle":"Help Me Help Them!
