The new LED strip lights and the corner lamp have completely changed the vibe of our room, allowing us to turn off the harsh overhead fluorescent lights during independent work time. The students immediately flocked to the new deep green rug and the balance ball chair, which we have designated as our new \"Focus Corner.\" I have already seen a massive difference in students who usually struggle to sit still; being able to bounce gently on the chair or sprawl out on the soft rug has helped them engage with their independent work time for much longer periods.\r\n\r\nThe reaction when we unboxed the materials was sheer excitement! The students were mesmerized by the color-changing lights, but the biggest cheer came when I revealed the Spinning Prize Wheel. We have named it the \"Wheel of Wow,\" and students earn a spin by demonstrating kindness or hitting academic goals. They were also incredibly curious about our new \"Elf\" friends, immediately asking stories about where they came from. It was heartwarming to see their eyes light up at the new additions to their daily environment.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are about to start a creative writing unit centered around our new Elves on the Shelf. Students will be writing daily journal entries from the perspective of the Elves, detailing their \"adventures\" around the classroom. We will also be using the prize wheel to gamify our upcoming grammar review, where correct answers earn a team spin. Thanks to you, our classroom is not just a place to work, but a place where students feel comfortable, motivated, and truly excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1768329312203,"projectUrl":"project/the-global-gateway-bridging-cultures-wi/9800624/","projectTitle":"The Global Gateway: Bridging Cultures With Spanish","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Straughn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9370491_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700257767412","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9370491"},{"teacherId":9665903,"projectId":9509589,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom project!\r\n\r\nBecause of your donations, I was able to purchase the room-darkening curtains my students requested and they make a huge difference!
