We've been using our new slight table, letter puzzles, fine motor tools, and sensory materials every day during centers and small-group time. One of our favorite new activities is our \"Alphabet Mission\" — students work together to find letters hidden around the room, then use their fine motor tools to trace or build them with play-foam stamps It's incredible to watch them strengthen their hands, focus their attention, and proudly recognize letters and sounds.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived, the students were so curious. Their eyes lit up as we unpacked the new colorful tools — many of them gasped, clapped, and shouted, \"Can we play with it now?\" It was such a heartwarming moment to see their excitement and to know that these resources were truly for them.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students now have hands-on opportunities to build foundational skills for reading and writing, all while developing confidence and coordination. Our next step is to continue our literacy journey by creating \"story baskets,\" where students will retell their favorite books using puppets and props to build both comprehension and creativity.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made learning come alive in our classroom. These tools are helping my young learners practice essential hand coordination and strength while exploring fundamental concepts like shapes, colors and counting. Furthermore, the Grab That Donut and Animal Balance have been wonderful for teamwork, focus, and problem-solving--all while keeping learning playful and fun!\r\nWhen the children saw the materials for the first time, their eyes truly lit up. They were so eager to explore and touch everything at once! Many of them immediately began experimenting--stacking blocks higher than themselves, carefully balancing animals, and proudly showing off their creations. Their excitement and curiosity has turned our classroom into a joyful hub of exploration. Next, we will use these materials to support our \"Building and Creating\" unit. I use the laminator to make token boards, positive behavior reinforcement systems, and laminate other commonly used materials that need to be protected from wear and tear. My students use the space keepers to help improve their reading fluency, and the reading buddies for their finger to support tracking. As a teacher, I feel so thankful for all of the organizational materials provided to keep me prepared everyday. My students love their stress balls to help with emotional regulation and coping strategies, and the fidget toys to assist with segmenting of words. Students have practiced skip counting with their 100s chart pop its, making learning fun and accessible. The materials from this DonorsChoose project are a big hit! During the past two weeks during library, the students have had an opportunity to explore the rocks, the puzzles, the volcano, the magnifying glass, and of course, the books in centers. They are especially loving the QUOKKA 100 Piece Puzzles because they come with a an illustration with 25 differences that they need to find between the puzzle and the illustration. The kids have been working on the forest puzzle, as well as the wooden puzzles on the states, world, and solar system. So many of the kids had fun exploring the rock kit from National Geographic.
