They were completely enamored with it, even calling it \"classic\" as they crowded around to admire it. Seeing their faces light up over a piece of classroom furniture was a beautiful reminder of how much they value having special tools for their learning. They couldn't wait to get their hands on the dry-erase markers and dive right in, turning what used to be routine table work into a highly anticipated event.\r\n\r\nSo far, this amazing resource has completely transformed our small-group instruction. During Language Arts, we use the table daily to practice writing words, building sentences, and correcting our grammar mistakes together. The ability to write directly on the table surface takes away the fear of making errors because they can just wipe it away and try again! In math, we have been working on collaborative problem-solving, where we recently used it to visualize and map out all the different ways to make the number 10.\r\n\r\nSince we are approaching the end of the school year, my current kindergarteners are maxing out their remaining time with the table by mapping out a collaborative \"countdown to summer\" story project. While this specific group won't get to use it for much longer, the impact this table has brought is just beginning. This wonderful table will be a cornerstone of my classroom for years to come. It will travel with me to future classes, welcoming countless new groups of students who will get to experience that same joy and love for learning from day one. Thank you for making such a lasting investment in their education!","fullyFundedDate":1778348060014,"projectUrl":"project/improving-small-group-instruction-in-lan/10187746/","projectTitle":"Improving Small Group Instruction in Language Arts and Math","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10179637_orig.png?crop=240,240,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775829233572","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10179637"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33738","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":377,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":47,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.0,"schoolId":33738,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Columbia Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Columbia Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/fairfax-county-public-schools/columbia-elementary-school/33738"}
