Because of your support, 16 copies of Dogtown are officially on their way to our school library.\r\n\r\n\r\nBook club has become one of the most cherished parts of our school community. This fall, we had an absolute blast reading Stuart Little, but the demand was so high that 25 eager students ended up on our waiting list. For many of our members, book club provides the very first book they get to take home to start their own personal library. Meeting and talking with so many new students through this program has shown me just how deeply they crave this opportunity—their excitement is completely contagious!\r\n\r\nReading is such a fundamental skill, yet it can feel challenging and intimidating for so many children. Book club changes that dynamic completely. It gives students a relaxed, joyful space to unwind, connect with peers, and fall in love with reading again.\r\n\r\nWhen our spring session kicks off on January 25th, those waitlisted students will finally get to join, and we will reveal Dogtown as our new book! I know their eyes are going to light up when they see what we'll be reading together.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible and for putting real books into the hands of kids who are so excited to read them. You are truly helping us build a culture of lifelong readers! Plus, it is fun for me to reread some of my childhood favorites and for me to read newer books with students, like Dogtown. Thank you for this opportunity for me as well, to read with students and rekindle my love for children's books.","fullyFundedDate":1792718964308,"projectUrl":"project/give-sixteen-students-their-very-own-boo/10606867/","projectTitle":"Give Sixteen Students Their Very Own Book","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kenley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8357975_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1788796917900","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8357975"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40615","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":772,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":38,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.1,"schoolId":40615,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hopkins Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hopkins Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/chesterfield-county-public-schools/hopkins-elementary-school/40615"}
