My students are in the third grade and are between the ages of eight and ten. They are good students but occasionally need redirecting from certain activities. I teach in an at risk school, and therefore, my students are not exposed to many things that those students who are not in a high poverty school are able to take advantage of (field trips, Smart Boards, Nooks, touch screen computers, etc.) By living in the Delta, some of my students come to school without enough to eat, parents who care, school supplies, or clean clothes. However, in spite of all these adversities, they try their best to learn and make me proud of them which I am!
