We have a place to store shoes, pants, socks, underwear, shirts, and jackets. Now that we have more organization, we are able to put more clothes in there. I have several students who are very impulsive, but they like to go and sit to use the rake in the sand. This helps them calm down, refocus, and gives them the ability to start the assigned task again. I have used this station for when students get frustrated with peers, assignments, and even when they feel overwhelmed with anything.\r\n\r\nMany times we do not know what has happened in a student's life before they enter our building, so it is important to give them a way to get their worries and frustrations out, refocusing on the day ahead. The underwear and pants have come in handy for when students may have had an accident, had something spill, or just flat out needed some pants or underwear to wear. Many pairs have been given to students and they have been so very thankful to receive them. One student had a pair of underwear that were too big, so when we let her pick out a couple of pairs, she had a huge smile and was excited to take them home.
