It is actually better if no adult is monitoring because the kids use more creativity and try things that they may not do if an adult was in the group guiding them. \r\nThe pattern stack activity has been so good for oral language speaking as the kids that are involved have to talk to one another about position of objects, color, shape, etc. And you should have seen the kids faces when they realized that the marbles with the Marble Run kit glowed in the dark! Talk about a game changer for making the marble runways more complex and sophisticated. \r\nFinally, the drill set has been a game changer for my hands on learners that want to build by themselves. I had no other resource like this previously and especially my little boys just rave about what they can create and construct with their own hands! It is engaging, exciting, and opens doors of possibilities for students that have never had that love of reading and being read to before! Kids are hanging on to each page, ready for what will happen next.
