My classroom library is full of books that the students enjoy reading each year, but it will be impossible to sanitize the pages of books. I would like to continue to have my kids exposed to interesting reading material while being in a safe learning environment. By moving electronically kids will be able to access websites that they will be able to pick from thousands of books that interest them without compromising their safety. With Kindle Fires, I will be able to download apps so the students will have these books at their fingertips to allow them to grow as independent readers. Utilizing technology will allow my students to increase their comprehension and fluency skills. These skills are important because it gives students success in writing, better vocabulary skills, and a greater understanding of what is being read. Due to the aforementioned reasons, the money donated will facilitate a safe working environment while stimulating learning in an independent and efficient manner.
