We're so excited about our new printer and organizing bins, they've already made a big difference in our classroom. The printer has been such a huge help! I've been able to print all of our classroom decor, like our alphabet and number charts, name tags, and other visuals that make our space bright, welcoming, and easy for students to navigate. Having the ability to print right in the classroom has saved so much time and allowed me to customize materials for my students' needs.\r\n\r\nThe organizing bins have been a total win, too. They've helped us keep everything in its place and made it easier for students to find and return supplies on their own. The kids love how neat and colorful everything looks now, and it's made our daily routines run so much smoother. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a more organized, cheerful, and engaging classroom for all of us. We have never had novels in our class like this before, so this was a new adventure for us. I just had a feeling that if students could each hold a book in their hands and dive into a classic story, their desire to read and their ability to read would increase. I would like to tell you some of the results of your donations.\r\n\r\nI am teaching a 4th grade class that had 11 out of the 20 students way below reading level. I was overwhelmed with the thought of how to help them, but I knew one of the best approaches would be to spend more time in books. So that is what we did. We have been reading the classic novels, like Winn Dixie, that you donated to our class. \r\n\r\nIn small groups, my aide works with the students to read these stories. Each student gets a turn to read and they discuss the deeper meaning of the books. I can tell you that the class has thoroughly enjoyed them. They look forward to their small group learning time, we have even had a student go check out the same book from the public library and read ahead (not what we encourage, but how could we not be happy about this), and all of their reading scores have shot through the roof. I just looked at their most resent testing scores and was shocked at the growth that the whole class has made, but especially those students who were below level. I can't tell you how happy this makes me. \r\n\r\nThese kids are the best and I so badly want them to succeed, which is exactly what you have allowed us to achieve. Not only have you made me happy, but you have made these kids happy. They are enjoying reading, they are more confident when they read, and they are understanding these stories. All of these things are making this class a wonderful place to be.
