Your thoughtful gifts — from the wonderful collection of books to the cozy reading carpet — are already making a big difference. The students are excited to dive into new stories and explore the world through reading, and the carpet has quickly become a favorite spot for group lessons and quiet reading time.\r\n\r\nWe are also incredibly grateful for the chair bands and math fact resources. These tools are helping students stay focused and engaged, especially those who benefit from a little extra movement while learning. The math supports are building their confidence and strengthening foundational skills. Many times I have seen wonderful moments of teamwork, problem solving, and cooperation without arguing and frustration. This was a huge impact as we switched to during teamwork for other learning opportunities in writing and reading. \r\n\r\nWhen I first brought out the games, they were so excited and it help create big incentives for the class to work hard so they could play games for their hard work. Starting in 2nd grade, the students have asked repeatedly when we get to play with the marble maze, and the circuit maker. The students are excited about the materials and they are so easy to tie into subjects we teach. They forget they are learning and enjoy their moments in class with each other. \r\n\r\nCurrently we have only used a few games in 2nd grade, but as the year advances my hope is to use the games to increase speed for math. The students have a hard time \r\nwith math facts, so we will be using the games to increase speed and quick thinking. I love how easily it can tie into comprehension and reading as well. The puzzles have been a great resource to reward the class with a puzzle piece that they get to put into the puzzle for every question the answer correct in our comprehension units. Its been such a fun way to engage my students and motivate thinking minds. \r\n\r\nI sincerely thank you for your gift of giving!","fullyFundedDate":1742497839493,"projectUrl":"project/boosting-problem-solving-and-creativity/9126126/","projectTitle":"Boosting Problem-Solving and Creativity: STEM Games to Inspire Future Thinkers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Erickson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8294196"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32978","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":324,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":1,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":73.1,"schoolId":32978,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ellis Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ellis Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/logan-city-school-district/ellis-elementary-school/32978"}
