We were able to cut over 60 arches with the band saw that will become part of the set for our upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast. We have been able to use the belt sander to smooth out the edges of the plates that are props for Be Our Guest.\r\n\r\nIt has been really helpful to have more tools for the students to use and they are learning skills they can apply in other situations as well. It's not distracting to others if they are going faster or slower than other students.\r\n\r\nThe magnets allow me to quickly put notes on a staff without having to draw and erase them over and over and will speed up instruction. I can move the notes around to quickly demonstrate sight reading concepts, intervals, and scales.\r\n\r\nThe new monologue and scene books will allow more students to looks for monologues at the same time and choose material that they are excited to perform and that fits their personalities. Students have already used the headphones to listen to their concert performance videos. They are brightly colored so it's easy to keep track of them in the room.\r\n\r\nThe new clocks are easy to read and keep the time accurately. I bought a digital wall clock a while ago and it kept gaining time, so it was hard to gauge exactly when to have students put away their folders and get ready to go, but now it's easy.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase music staff makes it much quicker to draw notes and key signatures. I want my choir students to understand the music they are singing and this helps me communicate those ideas to them more quickly. I will also be able to use the magnetic tape to make labels for notes and music symbols that can be put on the whiteboards in my room.\r\n\r\nThe colored pencils will be useful for my students as they are designing costumes and sets.
