This causes a holdup, not allowing them to get their work done promptly. One of the favorite things I got was a large box of pens for my students. Each student received their own fancy pen to use, and each incoming student, as they move in, also gets a pen. We did a fun unboxing, as packages arrived and the excitement and cheers were contagious! \r\nThis year, we implemented a 40 book challenge. Each student has been challenged to read a minimum of 40 books throughout the school year. (Although, the main goal is really to read more books this year than they read last year.) They have loved having so many options to choose from. Some series even have a wait-list to check out from our classroom. \r\nWe've also been enjoying our new art supplies. My students love to create art and post it around the room. It's been such a great emotional outlet for them, to sit down and get lost in their creativity. They've been enjoying the new markers, crayons, and water color pencils. We've used our supplies to create Cuneiform art, just like in Ancient Mesopotamia and our newest project was making pumpkins to hang around the room.
