My 5th graders were surprised when I showed them the funny seats and the bubble toys. Then, they were very excited about it! I use the seats and the bubbles toys as a reward. My students have to speak in French and only in French in my classroom. All the students who only talked in French win the reward for the next day. And it works because it is now rare that a student speaks English!\r\nThe little ducks are use as an individual reward and all the students really love them! They even named them.\r\nFrom January, we will use the modeling clay as a collective reward. Because of your donation, our classroom received three sets of headphones with microphones--so that each students has their own headset. The impact has been immediate and meaningful. \r\n\r\nStudents use the headphones regularly to practice listening and speaking skills in the French language in our French immersion classroom. Previously, it was a challenge for students to hear clearly or to participate in interactive lessons without distractions. Now, each child is able to listen to language recordings, educational videos, and interactive instructions at their own pace. I've seen students who used to be hesitant to speak now excited to record themselves and listen back, practicing pronunciation and fluency. My students are more engaged and confident. \r\n\r\nOne special moment was when we worked on a project where each student recorded themselves creating a short story in French using AI animation. The excitement in the room was palpable as students listened back to their own recordings, making corrections and watching their animation come to life. For many, this type of activity is one of the few moments where they feel confident practicing their French out loud, knowing they can practice privately and improve at their own pace.\r\n\r\nThe microphones allow the students to be creative with their French production in other subjects as well, such as recording themselves as weathermen giving weather reports in science, or predicting story endings in literacy. Having good quality headphones was also very helpful during some math tests where my low-readers were able to listen to the questions before answering them. \r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact on our classroom. These headphones are more than just a tool, they are an invitation for every student to find their voice, build confidence, and engage more deeply in their learning.
