Teachers enjoy having decodable stories and lined writing paper ready to go for each phonics lesson, saving them time making copies and passing out papers. And, instead of misplacing loose pages, students eagerly flip through their own workbooks, excited to fill the next page. This organization has allowed us to maximize instructional time and minimize the \"where is my paper?\" distractions. \r\n\r\nHaving their own bound workbooks has given our students a profound sense of ownership and pride in their daily progress. They are able to see their improvements over time and this has led to greater engagement and effort from students. We are so grateful to have the supplies we need to create these materials to support students and teachers from year to year.","fullyFundedDate":1767132761372,"projectUrl":"project/bound-for-greatness-giving-students-a-p/9941637/","projectTitle":"Bound for Greatness: Giving Students a Professional Edge","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Marsh","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2610069_orig.png?crop=864,864,x0,y63&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763572551619","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/marsh-sped"},{"teacherId":2610069,"projectId":9905011,"letterContent":"The arrival of our UFLI teacher manuals and magnetic letter boards has completely transformed our daily literacy block.Right now, our students are using the boards during the \"Word Work\" segment of our UFLI phonics lessons. A standout moment occurred this week when the class tackled complex vowel teams. Instead of just watching a teacher write on the whiteboard, every student was actively building words like \"dream\" and \"float\" on their boards. We watched one struggling reader's face light up as he successfully manipulated the letters to change \"slap\" into \"sleep\"—a small victory that felt monumental thanks to these high-quality resources.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our students are moving into more advanced decoding strategies and sentence dictation. With the UFLI teacher manuals providing a structured, research-based roadmap, we feel more equipped than ever to support every learner in the room.
