I want my students to be given some time to calm down from their frantic lives outside of school before we begin the day. By doing Mindfulness minutes first thing in the morning, it will allow them to be more focused on their learning throughout the day. I also wanted a variety of fidget objects so that the students could choose the one that works best for them. I figure that if I allow them a fidget object of their choosing, they will be able to stay focused on the lesson I am teaching and the work they are doing. I have tried this with a few of my students in the past and it worked really well for them. I would like to have enough so that if my whole class needs one, they will have that option.
By donating to our class project, you will help us to allow the students to be more focused on their learning and successful in school.
Life is busy and chaotic for many of our students these days and allowing them some Mindfulness lessons/activities and fidgets to help them de-stress and calm down will make a world of difference in the academic achievement of these students' futures.
