They had to work through frustration and even some tears before they found excitement and success. It was a wonderful growing experience and it stretched students past what they thought they could do. We were finally able to race the cars in the gym and almost all of the cars were able to participate. The students were so proud of themselves!\r\nThank you for our printer. It is so nice to have a printer in class to use in emergencies when I cannot leave the classroom. It is also nice to have to print student writing assignments. \r\nThank you for the erasers. They work so much better than the ones provided by the school. In addition, they provide a great texture and color to our classroom. \r\nFinally, we love the noise canceling headphones. Who knew a large stuffie didn't weigh much but that a small handful of coins could tip the scale?!\r\n\r\nWe have been discussing gratitude during our SEL Morning Meetings all week. When I explained how our class acquired these awesome weights their faces showed that they understand and feel gratitude. They were even more amazed that these gifts came from people they don't know. Students were very excited to start using these great tools.\r\n The noise cancelling headphones, kicky bands, clipboards, and privacy folders are really helping my students stay focused in our large class. Students put the folders up and headphones on for tests, and individual work time. The headphones have also helped my noise sensitive students, especially in the fire drill last Friday. They were able to stay calm knowing that most of the noise would be blocked. The kicky bands are providing my high energy students with a way to move their feet while staying seated. Students enjoy the flexibility provided by clipboards. They can work away from their desks while still having a hard surface to write on. \r\n I sure appreciate your generosity in making these very helpful tools available to my students. These materials have allowed us to bring math to life in a way that resonates with them, transforming abstract concepts into tangible experiences.\r\n\r\nThis year has been both rewarding and challenging, especially as we've navigated a new math curriculum. These manipulatives have not only enhanced my students' learning but also given them the confidence to understand math in ways they hadn't before. Our curriculum picture books are on display and in easy reach when a lesson calls for the stories, and students can see them! They point out the stories we have read almost every day and tell me details that they remember. It is an essential skill that we work on in kindergarten.\r\nOne that we use the most often is our Yoto speaker. After receiving the speaker and the story cards to go with it, we began listening to the Disney stories as part of our meditation/quiet time break. During the Lion King story (which only 5 students in my class had heard before) one of my students saw a book on my shelf, read the title Lion King, and brought it to me. It was a book that a previous teacher left behind and didn't realize we had. After flipping through it, I discovered it matched the Yoto audiobook speaker word for word!
