They were able to be self-sufficient in their learning. This gave them more confidence and gave me a break from answering the same question a million times. Your generosity made it possible for my Exploring Technologies students to take on a project they were truly excited about—forming the metal roof for the toy trains they are designing and building. For many of them, this was their first time working with real metalworking tools, and they were eager for their turn at the bender.\r\n\r\nBefore making their bends, students had to measure and mark the roof panels with precision. This gave them valuable practice using a steel ruler, measuring in millimeters, marking accurately, and using a square to draw straight lines. Once ready, they aligned their marks with the bender blade, clamped the sheet metal, and pulled the handles to form the roof. It was a great hands-on experience, and students immediately saw how their accuracy—and effort—paid off.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping create an engaging, meaningful learning environment for junior high students. Your support truly makes a difference in their confidence and skills.","fullyFundedDate":1755708938894,"projectUrl":"project/forming-sheet-metal-into-useable-product/9504019/","projectTitle":"Forming Sheet Metal into Useable Products","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hellewell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8296807"},{"teacherId":3129767,"projectId":9573082,"letterContent":"In today's technology-driven educational environment, having these hands-on materials for my students have helped the effectiveness and execution of my instruction. Having a mobile whiteboard for my reading groups has been widely beneficial. With magnetic letters during small-group sessions, we have had opportunities to manipulate letters, build real and nonsense words, explore syllable patterns, and construct root or base words with prefixes and suffixes. It truly is giving us another approach to reinforce literacy concepts and engagement in the learning process.\r\nFor Math, I have been able to have small group and even one-on-one opportunities with students to support classwork. The ten frame is helping build number sense and memorization of facts (multiplication and division, even sums of 10). The flexibility of being able to move a whiteboard to a small group has maximized instructional time and provided smoother transitions.\r\nAll in all, these materials have helped my class work smarter and not harder as well as keep a cleaner workspace supporting my personal goal of organization.
