They even helped open up the boxes. In our Special Education classroom, we have many students that struggle to enjoy reading because of their disabilities. The books that you helped provide are graphic novels, written with ample pictures and short captions (similar to comics) that help engage students who do not read for enjoyment or one who may have attention difficulties. The books also help students with minimal reading skills to feel successful by providing stories told in short phrases that are not overwhelming to a struggling reader. The books have been presented to our School Counselor to benefit the students that the center serves. They will be gifted specifically to children that are served by the School Counselor that are going through hard things in their lives, such as trauma, depression, bullying, etc. The books you provided share a message of love, grit, and perseverance thorough life's ups and downs. Inside of each book, my classroom students wrote messages of hope and friendship to the students who will receive each book.
