We use headphones during our small group time. The students have math and reading apps that they use on their own. These apps help them at their own level and each student can work at his/her own pace. We need the room to be fairly quiet so the children aren't distracted while doing their work. \r\n\r\nOur current headphones are old and dying. I've had to throw several pairs away. They won't hold a charge for very long and they are having a hard time staying connected to the app. This makes it very loud in the room because you can hear each individual iPad.\r\n\r\nHaving new headphones will help the students stay focused and on track during our small group time. It will also save me time because I won't have to charge them as often. We use dry erase boards every day in math, and having a variety of ultra-fine tips has helped students organize their equations more clearly and take greater pride in their work. The permanent markers have been just as popular. We recently started a project-based learning unit where students designed science posters and visual vocabulary cards—projects that really came to life thanks to the bold colors and precision of the new markers.\r\n\r\nOne especially memorable moment was when a group of students used the assorted Sharpies to create timeline illustrations of Earth's systems in science class.
