Our students absolutely love it. When the school year began and we revealed the new cozy corner, the students were thrilled—they immediately wanted to explore all the new items. We introduced them to the rainbow timer, the emotions mirror, the vibrating bee, and the weighted wolf, and then gave them time to explore each tool in their own way.\r\n\r\nWhen students show signs that they need a break, they are given choices: visit the cozy corner, go for a walk, or use the swing. Most of the time, they choose the cozy corner. One little boy loves to sit in the bean bag and use the emotions mirror. He finds the emotion card that matches how he feels and then practices making the same expression in the mirror. Another student frequently asks for a break so he can set the rainbow timer and hold the weighted dog. When one of our youngest students becomes upset, holding the vibrating bee helps him calm his body and emotions.\r\n\r\nThe cozy corner has been a wonderful and positive addition to our classroom. These books have had a truly meaningful impact on our students' understanding of social-emotional concepts.\r\n\r\nSo far this school year, we've implemented 4 out of 25 planned lessons. Already, the progress we've seen has been inspiring. For example, after reading Froggy Goes to School, our students explored how to make others feel welcome in the classroom. One student even started waving \"hi\" to everyone when he arrives at school—an encouraging sign of growing social awareness! \r\n\r\nHoward B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen helped us reinforce our classroom listening rules. The students connected with Howard's story and were eager to apply what they learned. When we read The Listening Walk, our students enjoyed taking their own listening walk around the school. It was a fun and powerful way to emphasize the importance of mindful listening.\r\n\r\nKaty and the Big Snow showed our students the value of perseverance. Katy's can-do attitude was contagious—one student proudly exclaimed, \"I can do it!\" while working independently.\r\n\r\nThese books have sparked joy, meaningful conversations, and noticeable growth in our students. It's been truly amazing to witness their development.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and for believing in the importance of social-emotional learning. Many of them have to spend extended time there and can't leave their rooms. These individual art kits will give them something to do when they are stuck in their beds. We are currently putting together different kinds of art kits including; foam dinosaurs, foam fairies, foam princesses, and foam cars, along with coloring books and crayons and pom pom penguins. We are going to be able to create around 200 different kits for Primary to help entertain some of these children. Student Council is having so much fun deciding what will go into each kit. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are truly grateful for your generous support. These additions to our special education preschool classroom have had a profound impact on our students' daily experiences.\r\n\r\nOur students especially love playing with the parachute, and the steppingstones have introduced more challenging activities that promote balance and coordination. While some students were initially hesitant to walk across them, many are now confidently mastering the task, moving from one stone to the next with pride.\r\n\r\nKicking balls across the field and chasing one another has quickly become a favorite activity, helping students build both physical skills and social connections. The tumbling mat has been an invaluable addition—supporting some of our more physically challenged students as they learn to walk on different surfaces, and offering a safe space for others to practice rolling and movement exploration.\r\n\r\nIt's been truly amazing to witness the positive impact these new materials have had on student engagement, learning, and physical development. My students were so excited when they saw the new math supplies—there were lots of smiles and excitement as they explored everything.\r\n\r\nThe moveable whiteboard has been a game-changer. My students love that it can be brought right to where they are working, making math discussions and problem-solving much more interactive. The stools have also been a huge hit! My students enjoy having the choice to sit on a stool or a chair, which helps them stay comfortable and engaged during lessons.\r\n\r\nThe math games have added an element of fun to learning, keeping my students motivated while reinforcing important skills. And for me as a teacher, the dry erase pockets have been a lifesaver—I no longer have to make endless copies of worksheets, which saves time and paper while allowing students to practice as much as they need.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students are more engaged, comfortable, and excited about math than ever before. My students have been using the new resources daily to help regulate their emotions, refocus, and return to learning with confidence. Whether they're squeezing a sensory toy to release stress, flipping through an emotion book to better understand their feelings, or simply relaxing on the bean bag with a calming bottle, these tools are giving them the support they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nThe excitement when they first saw the materials was priceless! Their eyes lit up as they explored the different items, and many of them immediately found comfort in their new space. One student, who often struggles with frustration, now independently goes to the calming corner, takes deep breaths with a sensory bottle, and returns to class ready to engage—something that was difficult for them before.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're incorporating our new emotion books into social-emotional learning lessons, helping students develop stronger self-awareness and coping strategies. As they continue to practice using these tools, they're building the skills to manage emotions not just in the classroom, but in their daily lives.\r\n\r\nNone of this would be possible without you. When they first arrived, we gave the students the opportunity to freely explore each instrument. They had so much fun discovering how to use the xylophone—one student even tried reading the music book while playing a song! The bells have quickly become a favorite; students love walking around the room and shaking them. One young boy especially loves the drums and often attempts to play them all at once! \r\n\r\nIn our class, we've been reading The Napping House, and we've paired a different instrument with each character in the story. It's been a fun challenge trying to get the students to play their instruments only when it's their turn in the story! We're all having such a great time. \r\n\r\nFor some of our less mobile students, these instruments have opened up new opportunities for them to engage with their classmates. When they start playing, others often come to join them in the music area, building friendships as they make music together. \r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much for your generosity. Your support truly makes a world of difference to both me and my students, and I cannot thank you enough for your kindness.\r\n\r\nAs you know, maintaining a well-stocked classroom is essential for creating an effective and engaging learning environment. The colored pencils you donated will allow my students to express their creativity and add vibrant color to their artwork, projects, and assignments. These supplies are often in high demand, and it can be difficult to provide enough for every student. Thanks to your thoughtful contribution, every child will have access to the tools they need to explore their artistic talents.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the Kleenex and Clorox wipes you provided are invaluable for maintaining a clean and healthy classroom. With cold and flu season in full swing, it's especially important to have hygiene products on hand to prevent the spread of illness. The Clorox wipes will help ensure that surfaces are regularly disinfected, and the Kleenex will be available for any student who needs them. These simple items make a big difference in keeping our classroom safe and comfortable for everyone.\r\nEvery donation, big or small, has a profound impact on the students I teach.
